Another collection of strange stories submitted to Rusty West by his listeners that West combines into a creepy compilation of bizarre and spooky audio narratives. These vignettes can be absolutely terrifying. A couple of stories from his prior collections have freaked me out and stuck with me. Plus, I am a sucker for the howling wind sound effect backgrounds that Rusty has used many times in these videos. Wonderful!
OK. Maybe the visual equivalent of paint drying at times but a genuinely creepy situation of some unknown creature baying in the woods. The second half, with the rocks being thrown, features some sort of grunting primate perhaps? I think I am glad that I didn’t get to see what was making all the racket. Sanity is a terrible thing to waste. Hehe.
“Below” is a nifty, submarine, World War II, ghost story all rolled into one. A submarine on search and destroy patrol in the Atlantic Ocean seems to be itself a cursed, doomed vehicle. Creepy events unfold and ghostly ambience abounds as the submarine meets with one disaster after another. I’ve watched it a couple of times at night and creeped myself out! Nice performance from Bruce Greenwood as the “new” captain of the boat.
